Know What to Expect,
Every Step of the Way
Building a home doesn’t have to feel overwhelming, uncertain, or drawn out.
Our process is designed to give you clarity, control, and confidence from day one… with a streamlined path from selection to move-in in as little as 75 days.

Start With The Experience
Visit our model home and walk through the layouts, finishes, and details in person.
This gives you a clear understanding of what your home will look and feel like… before making any decisions.

Personalize Your Home
Choose your:
Floor plan
Colours and finishes
Homesite
Upgrade options
We’ve simplified the selection process so you can make confident decisions without feeling overwhelmed. Once your selections are finalized, you’ll sign your purchase agreement and lock in your home and pricing.

Permitting & Production Begin
We immediately move your home into the next phase:
– Your plans are submitted for permitting
– Your home is released into production in our factory-controlled building environment.
This parallel process helps reduce delays and keeps your timeline moving forward.

Site Preparations Begin
While your home is being built, we prepare your homesite:
– Foundation layout and footings
– Rebar and block work
Site prep for installation
Everything is timed to align with your home’s completion.

Home Delivery & Placement
Your home is delivered to your homesite and carefully set in place using a crane.
This is one of the most exciting milestones… where your home truly starts to take shape.

Exterior & Interior Completion
Once your home is set in place, we move into the final completion phase. The roof is raised to its full pitch, the modules are permanently joined, utilities are connected, and exterior details like garage framing, porch work, concrete, and finishing touches are completed.
Inside, we finalize the details that make your home move-in ready, including drywall, paint, trim, electrical, fixtures, and final finish work. At this stage, your home truly comes together — structurally complete, visually finished, and ready for final approval.

Final Approval & Move-In
As your home is completed, we coordinate the final inspections and obtain your Certificate of Occupancy. From there, your home is officially ready, and you can move in with confidence knowing everything has been completed to plan.
A Faster, Clearer Path To Your New Home.
The Southwest Homes process is designed to remove the uncertainty that can make building feel stressful. Instead of waiting for one stage to finish before the next begins, your home and homesite move forward together — helping reduce delays, simplify decisions, and keep your timeline on track.
From your first model home visit to final approval, you’ll know what’s happening, what comes next, and how your home is moving toward completion.
Less Waiting Around
Because production and site preparation happen in parallel, your project can keep moving instead of sitting idle between major stages.
More Confidence in the Timeline
With a streamlined process and controlled building environment, most homes are completed in approximately 75 days.
A Simpler Experience
Selections, permitting, production, site prep, delivery, finishing, and final approval are organized into a clear path — so you’re not left guessing what happens next.
What to know before you get started.
Building a new home comes with big decisions. These answers help explain what affects your timeline, what happens before move-in, and how Southwest Homes helps keep the process clear from the start.
Is the 75-day timeline guaranteed?
The 75-day timeline is a typical target for many Southwest Homes projects, but it can vary based on permitting, site conditions, utility coordination, weather, selections, and local inspection schedules. The goal is to keep your home and homesite moving forward together so delays are reduced wherever possible.
When does the timeline officially begin?
The timeline generally begins once your selections are finalized, your purchase agreement is complete, and your home is released into the next phase of permitting and production. Before that, you’ll visit the model, choose your floor plan, review options, and confirm the details of your home.
Do I need to already own land?
No. Some buyers already have land, while others choose from available homesites or communities. Southwest Homes can help you understand which path makes the most sense based on where you want to live, what type of home you want, and what site work may be required.
Can I personalize the home, or do I have to choose everything as shown?
You can personalize key parts of your home, including your floor plan, colors, finishes, homesite, and available upgrade options. The process is designed to give you meaningful choices without making the experience feel overwhelming.
What happens while my home is being built?
While your home is being built in a factory-controlled environment, your homesite can be prepared at the same time. This may include foundation layout, footings, rebar and block work, and other site preparation needed before delivery and placement.
What makes this process different from traditional construction?
Instead of waiting for every stage to happen one after another on site, Southwest Homes uses a more coordinated process where production and site preparation can move forward in parallel. This helps create a clearer, more efficient path from selection to move-in.
You’re just 75 days away from your brand new home.
